New York Fashion Week SS18 : the best bits

New York Fashion week has come to an end for this year showcasing the best of what we have to look forward to in SS18 and there is a lot keep us wanting EVERYTHING.  We saw designers turning back time a bit and brining flureo colours into the modern age, lots of sequins, political statements and mixing prints and colours. We have seen a constant trend of “forward-thinking” or “looking to the future” with a lot of designers showcasing the bright colours as well as new silhouettes being introduced. We saw the 90’s favourite, super low waist pants come back in a big way with Tom Ford showing super low waist in nearly all the bottom looks, so if your ready to dress like some of the low waist icons such as TLC, Destiny Child or Christina Aguilera, your in luck.

Some more trends I took away from New York Fashion Week is the rebirth of spots and candy stripes, they were everywhere, and styled back with a clashing print really pulled of the perfect outfit. We can also expect to see in Spring Summer 2018 lots of hot pink, lavender, white and orange, with more feminine dresses mixed with the harsh lines of a masculine blazer. The biggest trend we can expect though will be suiting. Female suiting isn’t exactly a new trend but designers such as Victoria Beckham (the ultimate girl boss) Alexander Wang and Tibi, have definitely amped up the next season with more slim cut pants and tailored blazers, in contrast to the recent oversized and big suites that we see now.

This year has thrown out all the rules and is looking to the future by making sure you step out of your comfort zone and be bold, not just in your wardrobe but in you day to day life.

Now let’s get ready for London Fashion Week!
